Soh-re sofa (カーブ)

This project was a collaborative effort with my batchmates Udit Sharma and Tanmayee Aronkar.

The project focuses on a flat-pack design for a sofa chair that utilizes minimal elements, streamlining the assembly process for users while ensuring a robust and comfortable structure. Inspired by catenary curves and the elegance of tensile structures, the design incorporates fabric that stretches and supports in a natural, graceful curve, mimicking the form and function found in tension-based architecture. This use of minimal materials and the structural efficiency of catenary curves creates a sofa chair that is visually striking, lightweight, and easy to transport, ideal for modern, flexible living spaces.
